Rural Footprints

... a chat over the rural garden fence

Another Day in Paradise

I live in Paradise - really I do.

It's not the name of the village, but it is an accurate description.

The countryside may be 'red in tooth and claw', but it is also beautiful and peaceful most of the time.

I am semi-retired, but I still keep busy - I tend to the garden, and I go on long country walks.

This last week has been special, the weather has really shown the countryside at its best - a good mixture of sun and rain, typical 'British' weather, in fact.

Yes, I live in paradise, and I couldn't be happier.

Getting Down to Grass Roots

As those of you who know me are no doubt already aware, I love my garden, and spend as much time as I can in it, or tending to it.

Last week I decided it was time I updated my kit. You know, the basics we all need .. tools, plants, safety gear etc,

Its been a long time since I last bought this kind of thing, way before the advent of the internet in fact.

So, this time I was able to buy it all online - it was amazingly easy, even for an old technophobe like me.

I got my garden tools from B&Q , my bedding plants from gardening direct, and my steel toe cap boots from an online store. Everything arrived safely and promptly from a company called The Boot Seller, and I saved, well, a 'shed' load - quite literally in this case :)

So, with my new tools, safety boots, and bedding plants I have a pleasant weekend planned rearranging the flower beds, and breaking up that old rockery that has been irritating me for a while.
